About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation Analyst to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our compensation team, you will play a crucial role in designing and managing a comprehensive job architecture.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a consistent approach to job classification and assignment of job levels.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and state laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and pay transparency regulations.
  • Review and refine job requisitions to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with FLSA requirements.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and HR partners to interpret and administer base and bonus compensation programs.
  • Design and develop tools, resources, and training to increase collective knowledge and education on compensation policies, regulations, and practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent years of professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of compensation experience, including experience building compensation structures and administering the FLSA.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to extract and analyze data from written material, observation, and communications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and supervisors.
