Accounting Specialist Job Description

ISN Corporation is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to support the Sec-Held HUD contract. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and be able to perform various accounting tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process manual disbursements, including refunds, overages, and releases
  • Review and print release checks on a daily basis
  • Perform quality control on release checks and deliver to the Release department representative
  • Review and process manual disbursements and/or cancellations listed on the monthly 14R report from DC HUD
  • Process voids, reissues, and returns associated with disbursements
  • Complete monthly reporting deliverables as needed
Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain government security clearance
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Ability to use various office equipment, including a 10-key, check scanner, and printer
  • Ability to analyze data electronically
  • Effective communication skills
  • General understanding of basic accounting principles
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates and/or Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3 years accounts receivable experience
  • 1-3 years mortgage experience
