Job Summary:

As a skilled Endocrinology Clinic Nurse, you will play a vital role in coordinating patient flow and managing daily scheduling according to resources and patient demand. You will serve as a clinical resource for team members, providing case management for designated patients within focused populations. Your expertise will include direct patient care, infusion therapy, administration of medications, and nursing treatments. You will also provide independent nursing visits according to approved protocols and in collaboration with medical providers. Additionally, you will consult with practitioners and administrative leadership to ensure seamless care delivery.

Medical Specialties include areas such as Allergy, Cardiology, Neurology, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Diabetes Care, Consultative Internal Medicine, Urology, and Endocrinology. As a Medical Specialty RN, you will work with populations of patients to coordinate, manage, and evaluate care. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary team resources to support care of complex patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient care needs and develop a written plan of care. Assist patients and families/significant others in developing health care goals which are part of the individualized plan of care.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of the patients response to care. Anticipate and recognize changes in the patients status and need for nursing care. Modify the individual plan of care in collaboration with the health care team.
  • Communicate recognition of the patients and family/significant others psychosocial, cultural, and emotional needs in each nurse-patient interaction. Orient patients and family/significant others to the role of the professional nurse and other health care team members, the nursing services available, and the means of access to those services.
  • Assess patient lifestyle risk factors. Integrate health promotion and preventive aspects of care with the ongoing assessment of nursing care needs. Work with patient to develop a plan to improve general health status.
  • Identify own learning needs and participate in continued education programs to meet those needs. Participate in staff orientation and student education activities. Collaborate with managers in completing the process for self and colleague/team performance reviews.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse License (Washington) required at hire OR Compact License: Registered Nurse required at hire. Basic Life Support required at hire.
  • Communication, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in nursing. Ambulatory care nursing experience. Primary nursing or case-management experience.
