The Advanced R&D Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in a team dedicated to the development of innovative products across the medical, dental, and animal health sectors. Operating under general guidance, this position will apply a structured systems engineering methodology to fulfill both customer and organizational requirements. The role will be instrumental in effectively translating needs into system specifications, designing interfaces, identifying design deficiencies, and facilitating resolutions among a diverse array of project stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather and validate requirements from stakeholders.
- Assist in crafting well-defined system specifications that include clear acceptance criteria.
- Utilize analytical methods to support the architectural design process and evaluate the feasibility of various concepts.
- Contribute to systems modeling efforts, leading straightforward modeling tasks including textual modeling.
- Support technology planning to ensure necessary capabilities are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, drive enhancements, and take responsibility for technical solutions and their results.
- Help identify and assess risks, contributing to strategies for risk mitigation.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, making informed decisions within assigned projects and taking ownership of the results.
- Engage in moderately complex projects, generating alternatives and conducting evaluations.
- Broaden problem definitions, integrate new insights and perspectives, and select optimal solutions based on evidence.
- Negotiate and resolve conflicting requirements.
- Develop more intricate system models with guidance.
- Identify capability issues from the broader system that may impact the design of the system of interest.
- Facilitate the creation and management of controls for specific interfaces.
- Formulate integration plans for particular system elements under supervision.
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. INCOSE ASEP certification or the ability to obtain certification within two years of employment is preferred.

- Ability to generate alternatives and take calculated risks to resolve technical challenges.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Capability to take ownership of technical solutions and their outcomes.
- Aiming for a green belt in Design for Six Sigma.
