Cybersecurity Systems Engineer II Job Description

Genesis10 is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Systems Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our R+D team, you will be responsible for providing architecture definition to product development projects, developing cybersecurity system requirements, and ensuring end products meet user needs.

  • Participate in creation of threat models and cybersecurity risk assessments.
  • Leverage automated tools for generation and review of security artifacts.
  • Participate in incident response preparation and planning.
  • Implement methods of estimating cybersecurity risks.
  • Apply quality management practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to client products.
  • Identify potential risks, report them, and collaborate with experienced engineers.
  • Influence change within discipline.
  • Work on moderately complex engineering projects, following best practices.
  • Learns and applies new engineering techniques through mentored experience.
  • Perform work under general supervision, managing moderately complex issues and referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Actively participate with ideas and questions, making decisions within assigned tasks under guidance and escalating appropriately.
  • Collaborate on solutions, demonstrating creativity building on existing IP, and being aware of IP implications when creating or incorporating external technologies.
  • Analyze processes and contribute to improvements.
  • Provide onboarding assistance with new teammates.
  • Mentor co-op and engineer I teammates, focusing on technical skills and cultural competencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, software, computer, or systems engineering and 2+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of both.
  • Solid working knowledge of basic data collection and analysis skills to solve more complex issues.
  • Solid working knowledge of basic engineering tools and methods.
  • Working knowledge of requirements management software tools.
  • Working knowledge of Agile development methodology and use of tools.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity risk-management processes and assessments.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to identify root causes and propose solutions.
  • Working knowledge of systems modeling and analysis techniques.
  • Effective communication within the team and ability to escalate issues when needed.
  • Working knowledge of NIST cybersecurity framework and standards.
  • Working knowledge of FDA and ISO regulations and concepts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management processes and concepts.
  • Understanding of the importance of quality in engineering projects.
  • Ability to improve process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
