The Baylor Scott & White Health - Central Texas team is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Arrhythmia department. As a licensed, certified, non-physician healthcare provider, you will actively render direct patient care and possess delegated prescriptive authority. Your service will be billed as an independent billing provider, as recognized by Medicare and Medicaid within the healthcare systems, and in accordance with the appropriate board.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' physical and mental conditions by performing comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
- Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and healthcare needs.
- Prescribe, recommend, and/or employ medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures, or perform indicated procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policies with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost.
- Formulate and implement comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines, and in partnership with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when appropriate.
- Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management of health illnesses/conditions, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
- Graduate of an accredited program
- Less than 1 year of experience
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits
