About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Husbandry Manager to join our team at the University of Washington. This is a full-time position responsible for ensuring the husbandry care and welfare of the animals in the Seattle colony, in compliance with federal/state regulations and WaNPRC policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Seattle Colony primate resources care staff to assure proper care of the animal colony.
  • Implement the WaNPRC performance management systems for colony personnel.
  • Hire, evaluate, promote, and enforce corrective actions for staff.
  • Provide general supervision of the Animal Facility Program Supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or related field AND 4-5 years of applicable work experience.
  • Previous management experience with non-human primate husbandry staff and/or research staff.
  • Ability to work effectively and with discretion in animal model research setting.
