Patient Care Assistant

To provide basic technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas at the University of Texas Medical Branch. This role requires a strong foundation in patient care and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
Provide basic technical assistance to patients, including vital sign collection and medication administration.
Assist with patient transfers and mobility as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including adhering to infection control protocols.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a recognized Nurse Assistant program, Medical Assistant program, Medical Corpsman program, EMT program, or UTMB Hospital Aide Training Program.
Two years of experience in a direct patient care environment or certification as a MA, PCT, or CNA at time of hire.
Enrollment in a recognized School of Nursing and completion of the first semester of education which contains clinical concepts and health assessment or the equivalent.
BLS certification required.
Work Schedule:
24 hours per week, 12 hour shifts
