About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Elevator Operator to join our team at Ardent Mills. As an Elevator Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our wheat processing facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unload wheat trucks and rail cars, accurately binning wheat according to schedule and running tests on all loads.
  • Perform department and plant sanitation duties as assigned or as needed.
  • Be trained to fill in loading and sealing of Feed, both truck and rail as needed throughout the week.
  • Must know and comply with all Plant Safety and HACCP/Food Safety requirements, procedures, and vessel inspections.
  • Be trained in and performance of Plant Preventive Maintenance (PM).
  • Be trained and certified in track mobile, skid loader and railcar movement.
  • Must be a self-starter and work as a team player, including working outside in inclement weather.
  • Be available for overtime and weekend work as required.
  • Must have a general knowledge of operation of a computer, including sending and receiving emails and spreadsheet (Excel functions).
  • Ability to learn additional software applications is required.
  • Assist in operations on an as needed basis as directed by the Production Supervisor.
  • Actively participate in department meetings and facility teams relating to the improvement of plant safety, quality, innovation and efficiency.
  • Perform any tasks reasonably assigned.
Requirements
  • HS Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required.
  • Strong reading comprehension, writing, and math skills.
  • Proficient in computer tools, including email and spreadsheets.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year operating mobile equipment, including forklift, bobcat or Track Mobile.
Working Conditions
  • Will be working in a plant environment that may be dusty, with temperature extremes, climbing, heavy lifting, and other forms of physical exertion.
  • Must be willing and able to work with wheat products, dust, and wear respiratory protection.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in a dusty environment and wear respiratory protection.
  • Able to climb stairs through the work day.
  • Able to stand through the entire work day.

Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.
