Job Title: Radiation Oncology Nurse

Job Summary:

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital will independently plan and provide professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines. This position will also involve working directly with our Prostate HDR Brachytherapy procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in radiation oncology.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training.
  • Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
  • ACLS certification required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Oncology experienced required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • National Certification in Clinical Specialty preferred.
  • Experience in Pre-op, Operative, and/or Post-op nursing experience preferred.
  • Other preferred RN attributes are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit.
