Position Overview

Taunton Federal Credit Union is seeking a skilled banking professional who is meticulous, customer-oriented, and capable of overseeing a dynamic teller team. This role involves assisting members at various branch locations and via phone with a range of services including transactions, account management, and loan inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and be adept at managing daily branch functions, including vault and ATM responsibilities, while also providing leadership to staff as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor team members as instructed, offering support and addressing staff inquiries.
  • Guide staff to relevant resources as required and manage break schedules while assisting with time management.
  • Process member financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; issue money orders and bank checks; and facilitate account transfers as directed.
  • Ensure accurate balancing of cash drawers and daily transactions.
  • Oversee the opening and closing of the branch, ensuring compliance with Credit Union Security policies and procedures.
  • Manage and balance ATM and vault operations daily, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Conduct audits of cash drawers as necessary and provide coverage across all branches as needed.
  • Verify and record transactions on member accounts while maintaining accurate records for both members and the Credit Union.
  • Welcome members and provide general information about services, directing them to the appropriate departments for specific inquiries.
  • Facilitate the opening and closing of individual and joint accounts, and interview loan applicants using the core processing system to submit requests.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a banking or credit union environment is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Capacity to work independently and follow through on tasks.
  • Excellent communication abilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Full range of motion in upper and lower extremities.
  • Continuous activities include hearing, talking, sitting, and vision.
  • Frequent activities include standing, using hands and fingers for handling or feeling, and lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasional activities include walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and lifting heavier weights.
