Job Title: Senior Director of Patient Safety and Quality

This leadership position plays a crucial role in providing strategic, operational, and thought leadership to support RWJBarnabas Health patient safety and quality initiatives. The Senior Director will lead the development and implementation of evidence-based programs and services that produce measurable improvements in processes and practices that affect patient safety and support high reliability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs and coordinates patient safety activities across the organization, including quality, compliance, and performance audits.
  • Mentors and coaches other leaders and managers in conducting prospective risk and intensive analyzes, action planning, monitoring, and auditing.
  • Conducts RCAs in investigating occurrences, identifying proximate causes, developing root causes, and drafting corrective action plans for discussion with key stakeholders.
  • Serves as a change agent, develops, coaches, and facilitates complex process optimization projects to achieve measurable progress towards strategic priorities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master's Degree in Nursing or related field required.
  • PhD in Nursing or DNP preferred.
  • Experience in leading teams through process improvement and change initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practice, performance improvement, and patient safety concepts.
