Document Specialist

As a Document Specialist at SPX FLOW, Inc., you will be responsible for managing all aspects of quality-related documentation, with a focus on customer orders, particularly those involving highly engineered and sanitary products. You will also support the management of the Quality Management System (QMS) supporting documentation. Your key responsibilities will include ensuring timely delivery of procedural and conformance documentation to convey product approval status upon shipment.
Key Responsibilities
Work with Project Management, Quality Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering to determine activities requiring supporting documentation and/or inspection/test records.
Develop and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and testing methods to ensure product and process quality.
Complete quality questionnaires and forms in support of the quoting process.
Set up job-specific working folders to archive Quality Assurance (QA) documentation related to orders and manage working folders.
Follow orders during the manufacturing phase to ensure required documentation and records are generated, accurate, and appropriately filed in working folders.
Troubleshoot problems related to documentation generation and collection, if necessary.
Package collected documents for customer QA dossiers and work with appropriate parties for final document packaging and dissemination.
Manage supporting level one through four QMS documentation to maintain compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
Field post-shipment document questions and concerns, working with appropriate parties to resolve any issues.
Provide support and training to shop floor associates and leaders to ensure understanding of order document requirements.
Ensure compliance with established industry safety, design standards, and guidelines.
Support ISO 9001 compliance and quality activities.
Requirements
Organized and motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to continually improve controls to ensure efficient and reliable document collection and compilation processes.
Working knowledge of computers and related software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs.
Comfortable working in both office and production settings.
Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical engineering drawings and symbols.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding, milling, and turning.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or 2-year associate degree preferred.
3 years of hands-on or administrative experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Ideal candidate has experience working with document collection, archiving, and retrieval.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands, fingers, handle or feel, talk, see, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move office products and supplies, up to twenty-five pounds. Use of the appropriate PPE is required.

This job operates in a manufacturing professional office environment. The employee can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise levels while on the production floor. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate.

Anticipated salary range for this position: $59,700/yr to $83,580/yr. Actual salary for this position will depend on relevant qualifications, skills, and experience.
