About the Job

Susan B. Anthony Project is seeking a compassionate and experienced Victim Services Coordinator to join our team.

In this part-time position, you will provide vital support to victims/survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in shelter, while also advocating on their behalf with external agencies.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of domestic and sexual violence, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a valid CT driver's license and daily access to a car.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group counseling, emotional support, and options to victims/survivors and their significant others.
  • Support residents in establishing and achieving short and long-term goals.
  • Host weekly house meetings.
  • Assist residents transitioning out of shelter into new living situations.
  • Ensure resident rooms are cleaned upon departure.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and clean living environment through participation in shelter cleaning.
  • Accompany adult victims/survivors to hospitals, police stations, or courts for advocacy and emotional support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide 24/7 crisis line coverage and participate in after-hours shifts as needed.
  • Promote ongoing learning and skill-building opportunities.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
  • A strong understanding of domestic and sexual violence dynamics and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
  • A valid CT driver's license and daily access to a car.
