Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Assistant II to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Medical Office Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine patient care tasks, including vital signs, dressing changes, and specimen collection, under the supervision of a licensed provider.
  • Assist with patient exams and procedures, including positioning and restraining patients as directed.
  • Respond to member telephone messages and provide education to members and families.
  • Participate in Departmental Quality Assurance Activities and maintain departmental files.
  • Perform lab tests, including urine dip-tests, acetone tests, and hemocult tests.
  • Collect and preserve specimens for testing, including urine, sputum, and stool.
  • Initiate and complete diagnostic test forms per provider order and relay medical information from physician to patient and vice versa.
  • Chart in patient medical records as indicated.
Requirements
  • Completion of a program in Medical Office Assistant with Certification and equivalent of six (6) months experience or twelve (12) months equivalent experience in lieu of certification required.
  • Ability to give and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with the public.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sterile techniques.
  • Valid CPR Prescription call in for ambulatory care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with dressing changes, sterile procedures, and message management.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position working 32 hours per week with varied hours and locations. The primary location is San Marcos Medical Offices 4, with the possibility of working at other locations within the San Diego area.
