Job Summary

The Hearing Specialist provides administrative support to the Planning Division, ensuring compliance with Idaho state statutes and Canyon County ordinances. This role involves preparing and distributing legal notifications, maintaining records, and coordinating public hearings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Public Hearings: Maintain the department's Active Hearing Calendar, reserve public meeting rooms, and prepare hearing notices and packets.
  • Legal Compliance: Coordinate posting of required signage and legal advertisements, ensure documents are complete with proper signatures and notary stamps.
  • Administrative: Prepare and document mailings, maintain the master copy of the department's agency contact list, and assist with other department administrative duties.
Qualifications:
  • Skills and Abilities: Learn and apply the County Code, maintain records efficiently, and resolve conflict.
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalency, one to three years of general clerical or office experience.
Essential Physical Abilities:
  • Clear speech, sufficient clarity of hearing, visual acuity, and personal mobility.
