Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is mandatory.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited organization (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR). If not currently certified, completion of a Medical Assistant training program is required prior to employment, with certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
  • CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within 30 days of hire.
  • For regional roles, a valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Must be a healthcare provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One to two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary or specialty care setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Qualified candidates will be expected to perform the following duties:
  • Prepare patients for their appointments by adhering to established rooming standards.
  • Administer injections as directed by the healthcare provider and in line with practice protocols.
  • Prepare and dispense medications as prescribed, following all relevant regulations.
  • Assist healthcare providers with various procedures and examinations.
  • Conduct Point of Care Testing, including tests for hearing, flu, urine, and strep.
  • Manage wound care, including suture removal and dressing changes.
  • Provide clinical guidance via phone or electronic communication according to established protocols.
  • Authorize prescription refills as instructed by the provider.
  • Assist in tracking tests and monitoring overdue results.
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked and sanitized after each patient visit.
  • Engage in proactive outreach for patients needing preventive and chronic disease services.
  • Facilitate care coordination among specialists and assist with transitions of care.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and care quality.
  • Attend daily huddles with the healthcare provider.
  • Act as a patient experience advocate, maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
  • Handle patient information confidentially in accordance with privacy policies.
  • For regional roles, occasional travel to various sites may be required.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform various front office tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
