In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to retail customers, buying non-ferrous scrap metal, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Compliance: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to retail customers, responding to their needs and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Scrap Metal Buying: Accurately identify and grade non-ferrous scrap metal, ensuring that all materials are properly processed and accounted for.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure that all materials are accurately accounted for and that the work area is organized and clean.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate small material handling equipment as necessary to move materials for processing.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Demonstrate a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, and to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in customer service, sales, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and basic math and computer skills are required.
  • Personal Qualities: A positive attitude, flexibility, and a strong commitment to safety and compliance are essential.

Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to the outdoors and varying weather conditions. The successful candidate must be willing to work a standard Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional Saturdays as required.
