Job Title: Starbucks Department Lead

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote a positive and respectful work environment among associates, ensuring a culture of trust and respect.
  • Communicate effectively with associates, providing clear guidance and support to help them meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Collaborate with associates to achieve company/store goals, promoting teamwork and a sense of community.
  • Develop and implement performance goals for the department, empowering associates to meet or exceed targets.
  • Manage customer volume throughout hours of operation, ensuring adequate scheduling to meet customer demand.
  • Train and develop associates on performance of their job, participating in the performance appraisal process.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, as well as company guidelines, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated, answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  • Provide quality beverages consistently for all customers, creating and preparing drinks that meet Company standards.
  • Display a positive attitude, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Assist in developing and implementing a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Assist in creating and executing sales promotions in partnership with store management.
  • Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions, especially those that affect the kiosk.
  • Assist in implementing the period promotional plan for the department.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads, monitoring and controlling expenses for the department.
  • Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, noting any discrepancies in inventory.
  • Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising the inventory process.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, reinforcing safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions and notifying store management.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents, reporting all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications:
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Current food handlers permit once employed
