Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team in Pre-Admission Testing. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient surgery department. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate pre-operative patient care, including collecting health and medical history, verifying patient eligibility, and notifying the RN of any changes in patient status.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and verify patient health and medical history
  • Notify the RN of any changes in patient status
  • Perform data entry and filing of medical records
  • Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
  • Organize paperwork and upload files in a timely manner
  • Act as a liaison between patients, clinical staff, and medical personnel
  • Maintain positive communication with medical staff and their office personnel
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks within established deadlines
  • Comply with SCA and facility policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • One year of Medical Assistant/Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech experience preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant (MA)
