Responsibilities
  • Collect health/medical history from pre-operative patients and verify their candidacy for outpatient surgery
  • Notify the RN of any changes in patient status and responses
  • Perform data entry, filing, and organizing medical records
  • Answer phones and organize paperwork
  • Upload files in a timely manner and perform other business office and clinical functions as needed
  • Act as a liaison between patients, clinical or medical teammates, and maintain positive communications with medical staff members and their office personnel
  • Clear any medical concerns with the medical director and maintain competencies to function in the MA role within specific areas
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA and comply with SCA and facility policy and procedures
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • One year of Medical Assistant/Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech experience preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant (MA)
