Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to join our team at Dover Fueling Solutions. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the work of manufacturing technicians to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate manufacturing engineering into all areas of production, driving continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Participate in expense and capital improvements to optimize operations and drive business transformation.
  • Provide guidance and communication to the engineering group on procedures and best practices.
  • Manage employees effectively, setting goals and expectations, and holding them accountable for results.
  • Conduct system and material flow studies, and engage in cross-functional discussions to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in LEAN initiatives and apply Six Sigma tools to streamline processes and measure success.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new product introductions, documenting process changes and providing design feedback.
  • Manage multiple projects, providing scheduling, resource management, budget control, and EHS compliance.
  • Lead and interface with manufacturing, sales, marketing, and other support teams to complete projects within schedule and budget.
  • Interface with vendors and internal contacts to ensure technical and EHS perspectives are properly conveyed.
  • Participate in EHS-related actions to improve safety across the campus.
  • Respond to immediate requests for production support to resolve issues.
  • Initiate and provide technical assistance for production and maintenance issues.
  • Utilize process information systems to extract and analyze data.
  • Develop and document process specifications and qualification procedures.
  • Provide technical training for technicians and entry-level engineers.
  • Manage departmental budgets and reduce costs year over year.
  • Perform and lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) of new and existing products.
  • Lead deployment and implementation of NPD into manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement ideas through Kaizen events and Value Stream Maps (VSM).
  • Lead and drive problem-solving events and activities such as 8Ds and A3s.
  • Coordinate the creation and updating of Standards Work and operation procedures.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in a manufacturing assembly line environment. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a manufacturing assembly line environment.
  • 3+ years of experience as a leader of manufacturing technicians and/or manufacturing engineers.
  • Strong project management skills required.
  • Prior experience leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as initiative and ability to delegate decision-making and other responsibilities.
  • Possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management.
  • Operations knowledge required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
