Key Responsibilities

  • Recommend and facilitate quality improvement efforts.
  • Test, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Promote the utilization of technical services to resolve business issues within the agency.
  • Participate in the development of communications and telephony requirements based on customer needs.
  • Serve as a consultant to agency employees on how to use and program communications and telephony equipment.
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of voice and data communications analysis and design techniques, IP Telephony products, and network.
  • Advanced knowledge of PBX/Key systems, ACD, IVR, and other telephone technical problems and solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of state procurement policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of structured cabling systems and industry standards, including outside cable plant, horizontal, and station cabling.
  • Considerable knowledge of pagers, cellular phones, and similar wireless devices.
  • Extensive knowledge of all guidelines, policies, and procedures related to data and voice services.
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuits.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex manuals and blueprints.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems or develop creative solutions when necessary.
  • Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
