The Position

We are seeking Associate Teachers for the upcoming school year. As an Associate Teacher, you will support classroom culture, assist with whole group instruction, and facilitate small groups throughout the day. You will work closely with the General Education Teacher to create a productive and engaging learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Culture
    • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters relationships among students.
    • Establish strong classroom routines and systems that align with our school's values.
    • Facilitate arrival, dismissal, and hallway transitions.
  • Co-Delivering Whole Group Instruction/Leading Small Group Instruction
    • Assist with the facilitation of whole group instruction in collaboration with the General Education Teacher.
    • Prepare and deliver data-driven small group plans following school-provided materials.
    • Be knowledgeable about individual student plans, including IEPs and 504s, and provide appropriate modifications and accommodations.
  • Family Collaboration
    • Monitor student attendance data and collaborate with families to improve scholar attendance.
    • Engage actively and professionally with families, attending family events and sharing academic and behavioral updates.
  • School Community
    • Demonstrate a commitment to our school's values and mission.
    • Complete tasks by agreed-upon deadlines.
    • Meet professional expectations for dress, time, and attendance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma Required
  • 1-2 years of professional experience
  • Experience working with students in disadvantaged communities preferred
