Job Title: Family Service Worker

Waccamaw EOC, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Service Worker to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Family Service Worker will be responsible for implementing the activities of the Family Service Component in all aspects of the Head Start Program. This includes maintaining and completing current maintenance records for all Head Start vehicles, supervising regular preventive maintenance and emergency repairs, and ensuring daily vehicle inspection is completed by drivers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Supervise and coordinate the transportation of children and staff to and from Head Start centers.
  • Develop and implement plans for staff to acquire a CDL driver's license.
  • Collect and compile data needed for the preparation of reports relating to the transportation program.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet applicable state and local licensing, fire, health, and safety regulations, and laws regarding environmental hazards.
  • Maintain files and record-keeping system and provide data and reports as required.
  • Coordinate transportation services with Center Supervisors to enable children to be transported to medical and dental appointments.
  • May assist the Head Start Director in the interviewing process for transportation employees.
  • Attend all pertinent workshops, seminars, pre-service, and in-service training as required and follow an individualized professional development plan.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Social Science Degree or Bachelor's Degree in an associated field, plus two years' experience in social work.
  • Minimum of one year experience in community partnership and collaboration.
  • Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
  • Able to attend overnight meetings and workshops.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain and retrieve files.
  • Must be able to pass a SLED/FBI criminal background check.
  • Must be able to pass a Central Registry Check.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
  • Must be able to pass a Staff Health Assessment for Caring for Children.
  • Must have a Tuberculosis Certification.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
