Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Scrub Assistant: Act as a scrub assistant for surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic technique and providing support to the surgical team.
- Equipment Management: Ensure the proper functioning of equipment and supplies, including setting up and operating various types of equipment used during surgical procedures.
- Patient Care: Provide basic patient care, including transporting patients and equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure seamless execution of surgical procedures.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques and technologies, and participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
- Experience: No experience required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
- Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
- Pushing/Pulling: Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
- Standing/Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Visual/Hearing: Must have functional sight and hearing.
- Environmental Hazards: Exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood, and body fluids.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Must be able to wear masks, gloves, goggles, and gowns.
