Job Summary:

Lincoln Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraeducator to join our team. As a Paraeducator, you will work closely with students with a variety of special needs, including Autism and behavioral needs. Your role will involve supporting students in a resource room and/or classroom setting, working with individual students and small groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including those with Autism and behavioral challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education.
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as personal care and social skills.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, particularly those with Autism and behavioral challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
