Our treatment approach encompasses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of recovery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and healing environment that integrates professional excellence with the principles of the Twelve Steps.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Safety and Security Specialist is tasked with fostering and maintaining a secure and inviting atmosphere at Cumberland Heights. This role reports directly to the Security Manager and requires the ability to assess and respond appropriately to safety and security conditions both on campus and at off-site locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver prompt and courteous service to patients, families, and visitors.
  • Ensure a secure environment through proactive presence and actions.
  • Stay informed about patient schedules and campus activities.
  • Identify and address safety and security concerns effectively.
  • Conduct regular patrols of buildings, parking areas, and campus grounds.
  • Maintain regular communication with medical and clinical staff.
  • Monitor campus security CCTV and exterior surveillance systems.
  • Respond to all incoming security communications via email or phone.
  • Oversee the Fire Panel System and alarms.
  • Document and approve patient property brought onto campus.
  • Complete Daily Routine Activity Reports (DAR) and document incidents.
  • Act as the designated First Responder during emergency situations.
  • Manage and de-escalate physical and verbal altercations as necessary.
  • Maintain required certifications for unarmed security personnel.
  • Participate in debriefings and peer reviews following critical incidents.
  • Suggest improvements for service quality and delivery.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding company and patient information.
  • Adapt positively to changes in the work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including package deliveries and visitor escorts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties satisfactorily. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an unarmed security officer.
  • Valid and active Tennessee Armed Guard license preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare-related field is advantageous.
  • Completion of required training courses, including CPR/First Aid.
  • Valid Tennessee driver's license is required.

OTHER SKILLS:

Candidates should possess the following skills:

  • Good physical health with the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in using a PC and managing multiple tasks effectively.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position involves both internal and external settings. The internal environment includes typical office risks, while the external environment may expose the individual to various weather conditions and potential occupational hazards. Weekend, evening, and overtime work may be required as needed.
