Job Title: Safety and Security Officer

Cannery Hall is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our premises, guests, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Protect company property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Conduct thorough entry screening and inspections to ensure guest and staff safety and security.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by assisting with inquiries, directions, and general event information.
  • Assist with event setup, including equipment arrangement and signage.
  • Manage crowd flow and control entry and exit points.
  • Patrol the event venue and grounds, reporting any suspicious activities or incidents.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and emergency equipment.
  • Investigate disturbances and reports of suspicious activity.
  • Make regular reports and follow supervisor instructions.
  • Assist guests with special requests, including ADA inquiries.
  • Escort discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
  • Secure the property after hours by checking doors, windows, and gates.
  • Perform first aid or CPR if required.
  • Identify and escalate security concerns to supervisors or law enforcement as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies and contact law enforcement or the fire department as necessary.
  • Detain suspects until law enforcement arrives.
  • Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years' experience as a security guard or event security officer.
  • TN Private Protective Services Unarmed Security Guard license.
  • Criminal background check.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Ability to read and write clearly and legibly.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to carry loads greater than 35 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Ability to use physical capabilities, including climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
