POSITION SUMMARY: Ensure the protection and safety of patrons, staff, and company assets. Execute responsibilities in alignment with all organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

The Security Officer position at Morgan Wallen's This Bar has openings for both daytime and nighttime shifts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Promote and uphold a company-wide culture while demonstrating exemplary service standards consistently.
  • Respond to and assist in all emergency situations.
  • Conduct patrols of designated areas and observe, or remain at assigned posts to maintain order among guests, team members, and company property.
  • Address all disturbances to de-escalate situations. Be prepared to engage in physical confrontations when necessary. Maintain a vigilant demeanor at all times.
  • Monitor, report, and take appropriate action regarding all suspicious activities, unusual occurrences, and undesirable guests within the venue.
  • Adhere to all departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Document all incidents in detailed reports concerning property, guests, and team members as directed.
  • Serve as a role model for all team members and consistently present oneself as a credit to the company, encouraging others to do the same.
  • Possess a working knowledge of applicable laws (federal, state, and local), policies, and procedures, and understand their enforcement.
  • Foster positive public relations and create an enjoyable atmosphere for all guests.
  • Maintain a high level of personal integrity and moral conduct, free from any questionable associations.
  • Provide and create a guest experience that exceeds expectations and fosters loyalty.
  • Encourage teamwork, support fellow team members, and contribute to a dynamic, positive work environment.
  • Maintain appropriate grooming and uniform standards; overall appearance should be impeccable.
  • Exhibit friendly and courteous behavior at all times.
  • Be proactive in addressing guest opportunities.
  • Inform a Security Supervisor of any incidents and area checks.
  • Have a solid understanding of safety and emergency protocols.
  • Prevent inappropriate and prohibited behavior, address individuals causing disturbances, and protect company property.
  • Warn guests of infractions and assist in ejections from the venue as necessary.
  • Be prepared to work in nightlife environments, including exposure to second-hand smoke, excessive noise, flashing/strobe lights, and the stress associated with interacting with guests in a fast-paced setting.
  • Be flexible with scheduling, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • When assigned to screening and checkpoints, adhere to all best practices to ensure venue safety.
  • Testify in court as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Work may involve indoor and/or outdoor environments. Must be able to withstand high temperatures, heat, and sun exposure.
  • Work is typically performed in areas that may be unusually hot, cold, or noisy. Tasks may be conducted in confined spaces with limited access. Team members will be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp.
  • These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned areas.
  • Work may involve the use of trained chemicals.
  • Constant interaction with guests and fellow team members is essential.
  • Able to use a portable radio and headset.
  • Willingness to work in a loud and smoke-filled environment.

EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1-2 years of experience in the security field preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management in both written and verbal forms.
  • Working knowledge of the hospitality industry.
  • Basic computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
  • Must not have any convictions requiring registration.
  • All officers will undergo monthly refreshers on: ID Training, Incident Reporting, and CPR.
