Job Overview

This role is dedicated to providing essential assistance to individuals in a manner that aligns with the mission and philosophy of InVision Human Services. The position entails ensuring adherence to county, state, and federal monitoring standards pertinent to the individuals supported and the physical environment. You will be responsible for all necessary documentation to maintain compliance with these standards, as well as overseeing the routine, urgent, and follow-up medical care of the individuals, ensuring their overall health and wellness.

  • Empower each individual to be the decision-maker in their own life.
  • Engage with individuals, recognizing their capabilities and competencies.
  • Encourage rather than direct, fostering independence in those supported.
  • Conduct all duties with a focus on what is significant to the individuals.
  • Respond to non-verbal cues from individuals to tailor interactions effectively.
  • Adjust approaches based on verbal or non-verbal communication to de-escalate situations.
  • Listen actively to individuals and follow their lead, especially in crisis situations.
  • Seek feedback to ensure individuals feel acknowledged and supported.
  • Admit mistakes and apologize when necessary, fostering shared responsibility in relationships.
  • Implement support plans as outlined, respecting individuals' feelings and goals.
  • Maintain required supervision levels as specified in individual support plans.
  • Participate in debriefing sessions post-incident, accepting and responding to feedback.
  • Exhibit professionalism, dignity, and respect towards individuals, colleagues, and management.
  • Serve as a positive role model for individuals and team members.
  • Assist in organizing community and in-home activities that are meaningful to individuals.
  • Consult with supervisory and clinical staff to ensure interactions align with agency philosophy.
  • Report any concerns regarding individuals, colleagues, or the organization to the program supervisor.

Compliance and Safety

  • Plan and document fire drills and safety checks as required.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the home or property, adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Schedule and oversee medical appointments to ensure compliance and health optimization.
  • Notify the program supervisor of any changes in individuals' health or treatment needs.
  • Document medical appointments and communicate updates to the team.
  • Respond to emergency situations appropriately, utilizing the emergency on-call system when necessary.
  • Dispense and document medication administration according to state regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information as per HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with annual inventory of personal belongings and ensure accurate updates throughout the year.
  • Monitor the physical site for safety and cleanliness on a monthly basis.

Administrative Duties

  • Adhere to all InVision Human Services policies and procedures.
  • Complete and submit required documents by specified deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records in both house and office charts.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to positive outcomes.
  • Transport individuals to community activities and appointments as needed.
  • Manage meal planning and food purchasing, overseeing meal preparation.

Financial Management

  • Document all expenditures made on behalf of the company accurately.
  • Report any discrepancies related to personal or company funds immediately.
  • Ensure responsible management of funds belonging to individuals supported.
