Role Overview:
As a Custom Machine Assembler at SDC, you will be responsible for interpreting mechanical blueprints and assembling all physical components of machinery in accordance with precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Construct custom machinery based on engineering documentation.
- Perform primarily mechanical assembly, with additional requirements for pneumatic and basic electrical work.
- Engage in assembly tasks including mounting, fastening, drilling, and leveling, as well as working with pneumatic and other tubing systems.
- Collaborate with the project team to troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues.
- Support the machine assembly process through acceptance testing and assist with potential customer installations and start-up support.
- Operate metalworking and cutting machinery for the creation and modification of custom components.

Additional Duties:
Assist with various tasks as needed, such as unpacking received equipment, preparing outgoing machinery, and packaging.

Qualifications:
- Familiarity with methods, practices, tools, and equipment in the machine building and mechanical trade.
- Understanding of the machining characteristics and applications of various materials including carbon steel, tool steels, stainless steels, aluminum, and plastics.
- Proficiency in eDrawings, Microsoft Excel, and Teams is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, pneumatic schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams is a plus.
- Capability to lift and transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds and operate lift trucks and overhead cranes.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
