Job Summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will provide high-quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process to coordinate and deliver care in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and others, attending education programs and utilizing patient education materials.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes, seek guidance as needed, and participate in discussions with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient care.
  • Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, utilizing healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Organize and prioritize care according to patient needs, consult with resources as needed, and participate in promoting cost-effective care.
  • Recognize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care, assess and anticipate discharge needs, and develop relationships with families to promote their ability to advocate for the patient.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to prepare or update the plan of care, utilizing multidisciplinary resources and identifying and addressing cultural and ethnic issues.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • One (1) year of nursing experience.
