The Cost Management Engineer will oversee all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, focusing on reducing project costs, enhancing the construction process, and optimizing the value of cost-related applications while maintaining the required quality standards.

This role ensures that all assigned tasks are completed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget constraints, adhering to the highest possible standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture; licensure is optional.

6 months to 1 year of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying and Cost Management.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Skills in decision-making, negotiation, and active listening.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management of Approved Project Budget:
Validation of cost-related requests.

Tracking and documenting project expenditures and savings, including overhead costs.

Adjusting project costs as necessary.

Forecasting project costs at completion and potential savings.

Verification of Contractors' Invoices:
Ensuring all required documentation is complete.

Reviewing cost-related documents to confirm validity against billed items.

Preparation of Change Orders:
Collaborating with the construction team to identify potential change orders.

Assessing available resources (e.g., drawings, specifications, RFIs) for change order preparation.

Creating and submitting detailed cost estimates and related documentation.

Facilitating the reconciliation and approval process for change orders.

Report Generation:
Producing accurate monthly cost reports and analyses in a standardized format.

Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures regarding cost management.

Safeguarding cost-related documentation.

Performing additional duties as assigned.
