Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned Project Manager to lead construction projects from start to finish. As a key member of the Granite Construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including estimators, project controls, and construction managers, to ensure project success.
  • Lead estimating efforts to ensure accurate and consistent bid-to-build processes.
  • Coordinate with project teams to manage resources, meet project schedules, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Participate in bid review and closing to ensure accuracy and evaluate project feasibility.
  • Develop comprehensive plans for project start-up and successful kick-off.
  • Provide a dynamic project environment where communication occurs between project engineers, foremen, superintendents, and construction managers to ensure efficient, profitable, and safe work.
  • Ensure proper job controls, including quantities, costs, revenue, and schedule.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, corporate management, inspectors, and other stakeholders to develop long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure accurate construction reports for the job, allowing for continuous improvement in performance.
  • Run projects at profitability levels to meet or exceed expected margins.
  • Comply with, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Five to ten years of progressive project experience in heavy civil environments.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in paving, dirt, and grading in private or public environments.
  • Knowledge of construction paving, underground, concrete, and grading practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of union agreements and prevailing wage issues.
  • Maintain ability to work in high production environments.
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent supervisory communication and organizational skills.
  • Accuracy at all times.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
