Position Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a vital role in the healthcare team, working in conjunction with various professionals to deliver exceptional imaging services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Imaging: Ensure high standards of imaging quality and patient care.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside Radiologists to assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Image Processing: Manage the processing and transmission of images to the PACS system.
Qualifications
  • Licensure: Must possess a current State Nuclear Medicine License.
  • Certification: A.R.R.T. or N.M.T.C.B. Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology is mandatory.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in acute clinical radiology and as a nuclear medicine technologist.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in operating mobile and stationary Radiographic/Fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Anatomy Knowledge: Extensive understanding of anatomy and medical terminology is essential.
  • Education: Graduate from a program accredited by JRCNMT or CAMRT.
  • CPR Certification: Current BCLS (AHA) certification is required.
  • Computer Proficiency: Strong computer skills are necessary.
Additional Requirements
  • Completion of Form I-9 for Employment Eligibility Verification.
  • Valid Picture ID is required.
  • Certification in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP may be necessary based on departmental needs.
  • Proof of current licensure and Primary Source Verification.
  • IV Certification (LVN/LPN) is required.
  • Completion of various training and competency exams as outlined.
  • Photo for identification badge is mandatory.

This position is essential for maintaining the quality and efficiency of nuclear medicine services at Shasta Regional Medical Center.
