Job Title: Aeronautics Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified Aeronautics Professor to join our team at Mt. San Antonio College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching aeronautics courses, including Primary Pilot Ground School, Introduction to Aviation Careers, Federal Aviation Regulations, Aviation Weather, and other aeronautics courses as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach college-level aeronautics courses to a diverse population of students.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the aviation discipline and educational teaching methodologies.
  • Participate in aeronautics curriculum development, learning outcomes, and assessment.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to plan and administer aeronautics initiatives and programs.
  • Conduct office hours, complete college paperwork, and respond to emails in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, or associate degree and six years of professional experience.
  • Commitment to the community college goals and objectives of providing quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests.
  • Personal qualities to work effectively and sensitively in a multicultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FAA Certification as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certified Flight Instructor.
  • No history of FAA certificate actions or FAA enforcement actions.
  • Teaching experience, classroom or remote instruction, at a college, in industry, or in government.
  • Evidence of awareness of the racial, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity within the community college student population.
