ViaQuest Music Therapist Position

ViaQuest Community Solutions (VCS) is a leading provider of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Music Therapist to join our team.

As a Music Therapist at ViaQuest, you will have the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages and abilities, using music therapy to support their growth and development. You will collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and provide music therapy services in a variety of settings, including home and community-based settings.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Collaborating with the individual's service team to ensure great communication and customer service.
  • Subscribing to a clinical strengths-based approach.
  • Being invested in the team process and demonstrating strong clinical skills and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Using music therapy to support the development of social skills, communication, motor skills, emotional expression, coping skills, attention span, cognitive skills, and other identified need areas.
  • Using music therapy to stimulate and develop attention to be a significant support for those with more complex needs.
  • Using music to influence connectivity in multiple parts of the brain to elicit changes in brain function, improving communication between the brain and body.
  • Using dedicated therapy treatments to regulate intentional motor movement patterns that consequently improves communication, body awareness and control, motivating changes in other areas of the person's life.

  • Home and community-based
  • Office-based
  • Hybrid home-based and office-based

Requirements for this position include:
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in music therapy (MT-BC).
  • Valid (Indiana) driver's license.
  • Auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Experience with the Medicaid Waiver, Neurologic Music Therapy, and in the field of Disability Support is highly valued.
  • 2 years of music therapy experience preferred.

Must be:
  • Self-motivated.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional follow-through.
  • Organized, efficient, and strong time management skills.
  • Highly professional, dependable, and reliable.
