About the Role

ViaQuest Community Solutions (VCS) is a leading provider of disability support services, dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. As a Music Therapist, you will play a vital role in our team, working with individuals to develop and grow their social skills, communication, motor skills, emotional expression, coping skills, attention span, cognitive skills, and other identified need areas.

Responsibilities

As a Music Therapist, your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with the individual's service team to ensure great communication and customer service.
  • Subscribing to a clinical strengths-based approach.
  • Being invested in the team process and demonstrating strong clinical skills and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Using music therapy to support the development and growth of individuals in various areas, including social skills, communication, motor skills, emotional expression, coping skills, attention span, cognitive skills, and other identified need areas.
  • Using music therapy to stimulate and develop attention, particularly for individuals with more complex needs.
  • Using music to influence connectivity in multiple parts of the brain, leading to changes in brain function and improving communication between the brain and body.
  • Using dedicated therapy treatments to regulate intentional motor movement patterns, improving communication, body awareness, and control, and motivating changes in other areas of the individual's life.

Work Location

As a Music Therapist, you will have the flexibility to work in various settings, including home and community-based, office-based, and hybrid home-based and office-based environments.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in music therapy (MT-BC).
  • A valid Indiana driver's license.
  • Auto insurance and reliable transportation.
  • Experience working with the Medicaid Waiver, Neurologic Music Therapy, and in the field of disability support is highly valued.
  • 2 years of music therapy experience is preferred.
