Job Description Summary
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure a secure and safe campus environment. Promote adherence to laws, campus safety protocols, and institutional policies. Create a secure atmosphere conducive to student learning and personal growth.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in safety or security roles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Proficient report writing skills.
  • Familiarity with technology.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, & AED certifications.
  • Possession of a BSIS Guard Card.
  • Valid CA Driver's License.
  • This position requires obtaining and reviewing motor vehicle records (MVRs) prior to or during consideration of application as well as ongoing review through California's Electronic Pull Notice (EPN) Program. This position is contingent upon meeting and maintaining acceptable and satisfactory driving records.
  • Campus Security Coordinators are subject to continuous screening/periodic background checks as a condition of employment and/or continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of PC 832 Powers of Arrest Course.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with security systems, fire alarms, two-way radios, computers, tablets, and smartphones.
