Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pathology Assistant to join our team at UC San Diego Health Jacobs Medical Center. As a Travel Pathology Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our laboratory team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and support to our laboratory team
  • Assist with specimen grossing and preparation for analysis
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely test results
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest laboratory techniques and technologies
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience as a Pathology Assistant
  • ACLS certification required for certain roles
  • BLS certification required for all RNs, OR Techs, Surg Techs, Patient Transporters, Medical Assistants, and Phlebotomists
  • PALS certification required for RNs working in specified units
  • NRP certification potentially required for RRTs depending on campus
  • CNOR certification required for OR RNs
  • EFM AWHONN certification required for RNs working in Labor and Delivery every 2 years
  • Tech Cert Verification - National required for certain positions
  • State License 1 Verification required for specific roles
  • IV Certification required for certain roles
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification potentially required
  • NIH Stroke Certification required for specific units
  • Various additional certifications preferred but not mandatory
Work Schedule
  • Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
