Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Anticipate and Recognize Hazards: Identify and evaluate potential chemical, physical, ergonomic, and biological hazards in the workplace, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create and implement comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct Environmental/Occupational Sampling and Monitoring: Coordinate and conduct environmental and occupational sampling and monitoring to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with laboratory safety coordinators, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Provide Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Manage Spill Response and IAQ Programs: Oversee and manage spill response and indoor air quality (IAQ) programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Perform Safety Audits and Risk Assessments: Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and Maintain Safety Policies and Procedures: Write, edit, and update safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., industrial hygiene, environmental health, occupational health).
  • Experience: 4+ years of direct industrial hygiene experience.
  • Certifications: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Associate Industrial Hygienist (CAIH) preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
