The Idaho Coalition for Safe Healthcare (ICSH) is a newly established non-profit entity comprising a dedicated group of healthcare professionals focused on public health and patient advocacy. The coalition aims to collaborate with lawmakers, legal entities, and healthcare advocacy organizations to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of recent reproductive health legislation in Idaho on patients and the ethical distress experienced by healthcare providers.
Position Summary
ICSH is in search of its inaugural Chief Executive Officer to spearhead the development and management of this coalition. This exceptional role presents an opportunity for a proactive individual to nurture and broaden a grassroots coalition that will engage in public policy efforts aimed at safeguarding healthcare consumers, protecting clinicians from potential legal repercussions, preserving the integrity of the doctor-patient relationship, and enhancing healthcare workforce recruitment and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the coalition, including board leadership, meeting organization, agenda setting, and communication strategies.
- Facilitate community and provider education, media outreach, advertising, fundraising, and membership initiatives.
- Formulate and execute strategies, budgets, and action plans aligned with the organization’s mission.
- Collaborate with the board of directors to identify and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals.
- Lead advocacy initiatives and represent ICSH in external engagements.
- Provide expert guidance on policy positions and legislative strategies, ensuring timely analysis of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Develop educational resources and programming for members and the community.
- Build and maintain dynamic networks of leaders, stakeholders, advocates, and supporters.
- Identify potential donors and manage fundraising campaigns.
- Oversee the organization’s budget, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and operational standards.
- Recruit, train, and supervise mission-driven employees and volunteers.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and visionary leadership with a strategic mindset.
- Proven ability to organize and mobilize teams effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated approach.
- Exceptional networking and communication abilities, including public speaking and media engagement.
- Experience in developing issue briefs, grant proposals, and related documentation.
- A degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution; fields such as organizational development, business administration, public health, or corporate communications are preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a similar non-profit or coalition role, with substantial project management experience.
- Practical experience in legislative and regulatory advocacy or lobbying.
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 annually
Location: Remote
Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 25% preferred.
