Job Summary:

As a Plant Operations Technician II at SSM Health, you will be responsible for operating and performing repairs and preventive maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, and power plant equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and operate facility equipment and power plant machinery following defined procedures
• Perform scheduled inspections of various equipment for preventive maintenance programs and maintain records per policy
• Repair broken water and/or steam lines and install new lines
• Perform water and air balancing to ensure proper distribution per system design
• Overhaul and maintain all types of pumps, including centrifugal, rotor, positive displacement, and multiple stage feed pumps
• Overhaul and maintain multiple stage air compressors
• Clean and repair pneumatic and low voltage regulating controls, steam pressure control valves, various types of heat exchangers, and electrical motors and vacuum pumps
• Maintain and upgrade the building automation system and integral components to the system, such as VAVs, thermostats, AHU controllers, and make adjustments to control strategies as conditions change
• Perform maintenance welding and occasional silver soldering and brazing, and sweat copper as needed
• Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years' experience in a related field
• Mechanical Journeyman's License

Work Environment:

This role is based in Oklahoma City, OK, and requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements are also required. Rare use of smell to detect/recognize odors and rare driving are also part of the job.
