As a Plant Operations Technician II at SSM Health, you will be responsible for operating and performing repairs and preventive maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, and power plant equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and operate facility equipment and power plant machinery following defined procedures
Perform scheduled inspections of equipment for preventive maintenance programs and maintain records per policy
Repair broken water and/or steam lines and install new lines
Perform water and air balancing to ensure proper distribution per system design
Overhaul and maintain pumps, including centrifugal, rotor, positive displacement, and multiple stage feed pumps
Overhaul and maintain multiple stage air compressors
Clean and repair pneumatic and low voltage regulating controls, steam pressure control valves, heat exchangers, and electrical motors and vacuum pumps
Maintain and upgrade the building automation system and integral components
Perform troubleshooting and make adjustments to control strategies as conditions change
Perform maintenance welding and occasional silver soldering and brazing, and sweat copper as needed
Requirements:
Two years' experience in a related field
Journeyman mechanical license required
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
