  • OVERVIEW
    • Supports healthcare providers in executing medical procedures, managing prescription requests, maintaining patient documentation, and communicating test outcomes. Delivers safe and high-quality nursing services under the supervision of SHS healthcare professionals and the Clinic Supervisor, adhering to the defined scope of practice.
  • DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
    • The Infectious Disease teams at Samaritan Health Services offer comprehensive healthcare solutions to the community and healthcare practitioners in the surrounding regions. We also facilitate an International Travel Clinic.
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    • Must possess a current, unencumbered Oregon Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
    • Healthcare Provider BLS certification is mandatory.
    • Prior experience in a clinical environment is advantageous.
    • Experience with laboratory procedures and EKG is preferred.
  • SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
    • Patient Care: Demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge to assist and provide care for patients. Ability to identify symptoms, understand drug properties and interactions, and apply preventive healthcare measures within the defined scope of practice.
    • Adaptability: Capable of responding promptly and effectively to various situations that may arise with diverse patient populations. Ability to modify actions based on interactions with others to ensure optimal patient care.
    • Communication: Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex matters, facilitate information exchange among team members, and engage in constructive discussions. Capable of delivering group presentations and comprehending intricate information.
    • Team Collaboration: Ability to work cohesively within a multidisciplinary team. Skilled in fostering and maintaining constructive and cooperative relationships with colleagues over time.
    • Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with medical records, procedures, and terminology. Competent in interpreting and applying relevant policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
    • Social Awareness: Ability to engage with a diverse demographic, from children to the elderly. Basic understanding of age-related differences in patient care and communication. Exhibits personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others while maintaining a non-judgmental attitude.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Engagement in various physical activities, including walking, lifting, pulling, climbing, and reaching, with specific weight capacities as outlined in the job specifications.
