Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Collaborate with the nursing staff to prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring a timely and organized setup.
- Surgical Assistance: Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures and provide technical assistance to the physician as needed.
- Equipment Management: Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all equipment in the operating room and endoscopic lab, ensuring proper inventory and maintenance.
- Supply Chain Management: Stock and replace central sterile items, manage inventory, and prepare surgical instruments for use.
- Specimen Handling: Handle surgical specimens and follow verbal physician orders in the operating suite.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor surgical equipment maintenance and repairs, perform CPR as needed, and document unusual occurrences.
- Team Collaboration: Maintain a cooperative and professional demeanor in the operating room, working effectively with the RN Circulator and physician.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certifications: Current BLS Certification required; CST Certification preferred.
- Skills: Ability to make sound judgments, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and pass a background check and drug screen.
