Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Patient Service Technician to join our team at Owens & Minor, Inc. As a Patient Service Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering medical equipment to patients in their homes, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medical supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload medical equipment, oxygen, and supplies onto and off of delivery vehicles.
  • Deliver medical equipment to homecare patients, including setting up the equipment, instructing patients on its use, and assisting with problem-solving.
  • Ensure patients receive timely and efficient service by proactively communicating estimated arrival times.
  • Complete daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance logs.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and daily inspections, including checking gasoline, oil fluids, tire pressure, and brakes.
  • Respond to critical situations as needed, during regular business hours and on an on-call basis.
  • Comply with all applicable traffic laws and regulatory requirements, including practicing safe driving habits and adhering to hours of service, daily log, and hazardous materials regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • At least one year of related work experience required.
  • Minimum of three years of driving history required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
  • Meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A., and Joint Commissions regulations.
Work Environment

The employee is required to inspect and safely operate a motor vehicle during the day and night, in a wide range of weather and traffic conditions. The noise level in the work environment can range from low to high, but varies based on the locations or activities proximate.
