The State of North Carolina is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Caswell Developmental Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform routine duties of a practical nurse in the care and treatment of individuals, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Nurse Supervisor.
  • Participate in nursing assessments, provide personal care, and take routine vital signs.
  • Administer routine medications and assist the Registered Nurse and Physician as needed.
  • Stock supplies, participate in emergency response, and provide other direct clinical services.
Requirements
  • Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Working knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, theory, and practices.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health, and safety practices.
  • Ability to respond to potentially life-threatening situations in a calm and orderly manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and guardians orally and in written form.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain organization while delivering quality nursing care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements. A newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus, which will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week.
