About the Role:

The Operating Room Nurse is a vital member of our perioperative team, providing exceptional care to patients undergoing surgery. As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patients, developing individualized care plans, and implementing evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve patient safety and quality of care
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication

Requirements:

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of NC
  • ACLS and CPR certification required
  • CNOR certification desirable
  • Previous experience as an OR nurse preferred, but not required

Work Environment:

The Operating Room Nurse will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, exposed to blood-borne pathogens, infectious diseases, radiation, chemicals, and electrical hazards. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team-oriented setting, prioritizing tasks and managing stress in a high-pressure environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to engage in lengthy periods of standing, moving stretchers and equipment, and assisting with patient positioning
  • Ability to carry and lift instrument sets and various items of equipment
  • Ability to maintain emotional stability and work effectively in a stressful environment
